Camila Sodi’s first TV outing was at the age of 17 as Florecita, the lead character in the telenovela Inocente de Ti. Shown in 2004, the show was a remake of the popular TV drama Maria Mercedes that starred Camila’s aunt Thalia. Inocenti de Ti is not your ordinary family drama. The plot has numerous twists and adventures that will have you rooting for Florecita each time.
Recently Camila has also decided to pose for the centerfold of a popular men’s magazine, a step that is likely to boost the actress’ career as she sheds her wholesome image and try to take on more mature and challenging roles. With her sexy photos for H magazine, people can’t help but compare her with her sexy aunt Thalia.
Today, the actress continues to host her own music video show on television entitled El Show Con Camila. She is also working on a Spanish music album with the help of her aunt Thalia. The album will be released in the first quarter of 2007. Very good for an actress who only started her career in television and movies two years ago. |
The TV show was a great vehicle for showing Camila’s acting talent. Not only was her portrayal of Florecita convincing, she also added a lot of charm to the character. The story revolves around Florecita who together with her grandmother and her sister Isela (played by Mexican actress Altair Jarabo) goes to the United States to reunite with their father Ruben (played by actor Salvador Pineda). The grandmother dies before reaching Miami where Ruben is based and has apparently resigned himself to the life of an alcoholic. Florecita then decides to work as a flower vendor to make ends meet. She finds herself falling in love with Julio Alberto (played by Valentino Lanus), a rich man whose fiancé died before their wedding. Julio Alberto’s mother Rebecca is at odds with his aunt Racquel who is suffering from terminal cancer. Instead of leaving her wealth to her family, Racquel decides to give her fortune to Florecita. This peeves Rebecca who convinces Julio Alberto to pursue Florecita just so she can get her hands on the fortune she believes should be hers. Will Florecita live happily-ever-after with Julio Alberto? Inocente de Ti will leave you hanging each episode and wishing for only one thing — for Florecita to find true love and happiness.
